Bandung Mayor Dies Aged 59

TheIndonesia.co - Mayor of Bandung Oded Muhammad Danial has died aged 59 on Friday, December 10.

Representative from Bandung municipal government Hendro confirmed the passing of the number one figure in the West Java’s capital.

“It’s true, we ask for your prayers. Mr. Oded has passed away,” he said.

As reported by SuaraJabar.id, Danial died in Masjid Mujahidin in Jalan Sancang, Bandung. He was walking to the podium inside the mosque to deliver a sermon and lead the Friday prayer, when he suddenly fell down.

He lost consciousness and was taken to Muhammadiyah Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Danial was born on November 15, 1962, and he was first appointed as Bandung mayor in 2018.

Prior to claiming the post, he was deputy to then-mayor Ridwan Kamil, who is now West Java governor.

Before running for municipal office, he was a member of Bandung Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) between 2004 and 2009.
