TheIndonesia.co - Indonesia is hosting the 37th Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific (CAP) and the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia (CSA), reaffirming its role as a key player in the advancement of sustainable and inclusive tourism across the Asia-Pacific region.
According to Antara News Agency, held in Jakarta from April 15 to 16, 2025, at the Mulia Hotel, the event brings together hundreds of tourism delegates, including UN Tourism members, affiliate members, regional and international organizations, and global tourism experts. The annual forum is one of the most significant events on the UN Tourism calendar for the Asia-Pacific.
Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana opened the meeting by emphasizing the importance of collaboration in the region.
“Your active participation will play an important role in developing positive changes, not only within your country but also across the wider East Asian community,” she said.
The forum is focused on pressing issues and opportunities in regional tourism development, including the implementation of forward-looking policies, economic cooperation, and tourism investments. It also explores strategies for maximizing tourism's contribution to local communities, both directly and indirectly.

“Exploring Jakarta offers a rich history, culture, and different experiences for various interests,” she remarked.
