TheIndonesia.co - The construction of a world-class climbing wall for the 2025 IFSC Climbing World Cup in Nusa Dua, Bali, is nearing completion—now 80% finished and set to be a major highlight for both international athletes and adventure-loving tourists.
We’ve reached 80 percent. What’s left is installing the resin panels,” said Putu Yudi Atmika, Head of the Indonesian Climbing Federation (FPTI) Bali chapter, on Tuesday in Denpasar, according to Antara News Agency.
The venue features two climbing walls designed for speed and lead categories. Once construction is complete, the walls will undergo final testing and certification by the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC).
Bali will proudly host the IFSC Climbing World Cup from May 2–4, 2025, at Peninsula Island, Nusa Dua, a scenic coastal venue known for its coral cliffs and ocean views—an epic setting for a world-class competition.
The Indonesian national climbing team will be represented by 31 top athletes, including Veddriq Leonardo, the gold medalist in speed climbing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and Desak Made Rita, a Bali-born climbing star.
The 2025 event will welcome competitors from over 30 countries, making it a global celebration of climbing sport and culture. This will be the fourth time Indonesia has hosted the Climbing World Cup, following successful editions in Jakarta.
Beyond the competition, the climbing wall in Nusa Dua is expected to become a new destination for climbing enthusiasts, including foreign tourists who are passionate about wall climbing and outdoor adventures.
Whether you're here to compete, cheer, or climb, Bali is about to offer one more reason to visit.
