TheIndonesia.co - The Ministry of Transportation has committed to ensuring a smooth and efficient transportation experience for travelers during Eid 2025, revealing its detailed plan for managing the large-scale holiday travel.

"We are dedicated to providing a safe and well-organized Eid transportation experience this year," said Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi during a visit to the Port of Merak in Banten on Sunday, according Antara News Agency.

Minister Purwagandhi outlined the preparations underway for the 2025 Eid homecoming, which include ensuring the availability of sufficient transportation resources. The plan involves deploying 30,451 buses, 772 ships, 404 aircraft, and 2,550 trains.

To ensure safety, the Ministry is conducting comprehensive feasibility tests and ramp checks on all transportation fleets.

Additionally, the Ministry is strengthening coordination across sectors by collaborating with relevant ministries, institutions, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the Indonesian National Police, security agencies, local governments, and transportation operators.

"We are optimizing the capabilities of the Transportation Information Center (Pusintrans) and the Eid Transportation Command Post, both of which will operate 24/7 to monitor all transportation modes," the Minister stated.

Beyond improving infrastructure and safety, the government and stakeholders are also implementing several initiatives to ease travel burdens. These include offering free homecoming trips, reducing airfare by 13-14 percent between March 24 and April 7, providing a 20 percent discount on toll fees, and offering up to a 25 percent reduction in train ticket prices on select dates.

At a plenary cabinet meeting on March 21, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of organized transportation during the homecoming and Eid festivities.

"I expect thorough planning for the homecoming to ensure smooth traffic flow across all transportation modes—land, rail, air, and sea. The Minister of Transportation will lead and coordinate these efforts," President Prabowo said.
