TheIndonesia.co - Ancol Lagoon Beach in the northern part of Jakarta has become a top destination for visitors on the first day of the Eid holiday on March 31st 2025.  Once again, it has been proven that this long-time favourite remains unshaken by other local destinations around the capital city of Indonesia.

According to Antara News Agency, by 10 a.m. local time on Monday, the beach was already bustling with families enjoying the sand, swimming, and picnicking under the palm trees. The area was not overcrowded, and visitors found it easy to park their cars, creating a relaxed holiday atmosphere.

Gita, a visitor from Cilacap, Central Java, chose Ancol for its affordability and proximity to her parents' home. "It’s close and cheaper," she said, adding that this was her first time celebrating Eid at Ancol with her family.

Sela, from Cakung, Jakarta, also opted for Ancol for its convenience and pleasant environment for strolling. "It’s nice to walk around with my family," she remarked, noting that this wasn’t her first Eid at Ancol.

In Indonesia, particularly in Jakarta, visiting local tourist destinations like Ancol Beach has become a beloved tradition during Eid. The holiday is a time when many Indonesians take short trips to unwind, celebrate, and reconnect with family, often at popular spots like Ancol.

This tradition not only offers a chance to relax but also fosters a sense of community and joy, with people enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the beach and other attractions.

Many visitors planned to stay at the beach until evening to enjoy the sunset. Besides beach activities, Ancol offers sightseeing boat rentals, allowing visitors to explore the beach area, including the man-made islands and the Putri Duyung area, making it a popular spot for both relaxation and adventure during the holiday.
